in the gap between our expectations and our reality

we find ourselves

disappointed.

/ˌdisəˈpoin(t)əd/  · καταισχύνω

Sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one's hopes or expectations.

dissatisfied.

/di(s)ˈsadəsˌfīd/  · Ἐγόγγυζον

Not content or happy with something.

distressed.

/dəˈstrest/  · στενοχωρία

Suffering from anxiety, sorrow, or pain.

Living with disappointment, dissatisfaction, or being distressed is dangerous. No one can endure the toll that it takes on each of us for very long. While there is something noble about dreaming, our personal expectations can write the narrative that we are not enough… that we don’t measure up.

we are always reaching.

we are always wanting.

we are always lacking.

this is an expectation trap.

if you can relate with any of this.

if you feel like your expectation gap is real.

if you are dealing with a reality of suffering.

don’t try to fake it anymore.

don’t assume that you are alone in it.

don’t pass up the opportunity to dig into reality.
